The Lord Calls us into His Presence

* Call to Worship: Psalm 107:1-2, 8

Oh, Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good,

His steadfast love endures forever!

Let the redeemed of the Lord say so,

Whom he has redeemed from trouble.

Let them thank the Lord for his steadfast love,

For his wondrous works to the children of man!

The Lord Cleanses us in His Son

Prayer of Confession:

Almighty God, we acknowledge and confess that we have sinned against you in thought, word, and deed; we have not loved you with all of our heart, soul, mind, and strength; we have not loved our neighbor as ourselves. Forgive our sins, Heavenly Father, for they are great.  Deepen within us our sorrow for the wrong we have done, and the good we have left undone. Lord, you are full of compassion and gracious, slow to anger, and plenteous in mercy; there is always forgiveness with you! Restore to us the joy of your salvation; bind up that which is broken, give light to our minds, strength to our wills, and rest to our souls. Speak to each of us, and let your word abide with us until it has wrought in us your holy will. Amen.

Promise of Comfort and Forgiveness

“We do not make requests of you because we are righteous, but because of your great mercy. O Lord, listen! O Lord, forgive! O Lord, hear and act! For your sake, O my God, do not delay, because your city and your people bear your Name.”  (Daniel 9:18-19)
